Your program
Day One: Arrival in Entebbe
Upon arrival at Entebbe airport, your guide will welcome you and transfer you to your accommodation for refreshments and overnight stay.
Day Two: Transfer to Murchison falls national park
You will have an early breakfast and then depart to mfnp. The highlights of this park include the roaring rapids of the Murchison, the roaring plains of Uganda’s largest national park where you will have a chance of viewing lions, giraffes, hartebeets, buffaloes and elephants. Then surely you will be fascinated by the concentration of hippos and the Nile crocodile here. For birders, Murchison falls boasts about 450 bird species including the elusive shoe bill stock.
Have a stopover at Ziwa rhino sanctuary. The trip passes through various homesteads and various fruits and vegetable fruit markets. The plan is to get to these rhinos before it is too hot for them to feed. It is very critical that you heed to the ranger’s instruction before trekking these rhinos. Rhinos are aggressive animals if they sense need to defend themselves.
Once you locate, the rhinos,you can stay a maximum of 1 hour in their presence.You miht get chance to visit more than one group.Once done, embark on the safari vehicle proceed to Murchison falls national park. Dine and slumber at Fort Murchison lodge.
Game drive and boat cruise
After an early breakfast, tour the northern section of Murchison falls with a high concentration of savannah wildlife. Enjoy game viewing and photography of elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, giraffes, Uganda kobs, lions, the leopards if you are lucky plus a variety of birds.
Return to your accommodation for lunch as you prepare to have launch trip to the base of the falls. This trip is said to be the highlight of this safari in Murchison falls national park since it allows to get upclose to the animals species within the water.
In the afternoon, you will embark on a three hour launch trip to the base of the Murchison falls. Cruise past huge hippos pods, the north bank on the way to the mighty falls. You will have an opportunity of seeing spectacular bird species. Dinner and overnight stay at Fort Murchison Lodge.
Day Four: Transfer to Kibale National Park
After your morning breakfast, depart Murchison falls with your packed lunch, to Kibale National park. This park is known to have a large number of primates and birds species in East Africa
Depart Murchison falls national park after an early breakfast and head to kibale national park with packed lunch. This journey may take 10 hrs mostly because of the nature of the road. This park is known to have many primates including the white and black colubus monkey.Dinner and overnight stay at Chimpanzee Forest Guest House.
Day Five: Chimp trekking and bigodi swamp walk
Wake up early enough for your morning breakfast. Head to the park offices for briefing. The tekking normally takes 2-3 hours and the experience is just spectacular.In the afternoon after lunch, go for a nature walk in bigodi swamp. For birders, this is a perfect place for viewing different birds species. Retire at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day Six: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
TransfAfter your morning breakfast drive through the great western Rift Valley’s Albertine escarpment to the southwest Uganda. Arrive at the Tooro kingdom’s capital, Fort Portal located in the shadows of the magical “mountains of the moon” -Rwenzori. In the afternoon after lunch continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park and on your way to Twin Lakes safari lodge for dinner and overnight, enjoy the stunning scenery and seeing the wonderful sights as you drive to your lodge.
Day Seven: Game drive and boat cruise
The day begins with an early breakfast and we go for a game drive in the Kasenyi Kobs mating ground which is in the northern sector of this Park. We are more likely to see waterbucks, buffaloes, elephants, lions and warthogs in their nature habitat. The game drive normally takes 2-3hours. After lunch we go for a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel, a natural channel that connects Lake George and Lake Edward. This is a very interesting cruise because of the big numbers of animals and birds it offers. It also takes 2hours.
Day Eight: Queen Elizabeth – Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest
After an early breakfast, embark on a game drive to the Ishasha plains for the resident tree climbing lions plus a diversity of wildlife. The landscape in this sector is unique compared to that in other parts of Queen Elizabeth national park. It’s breathtaking seeing these lions lazily resting on tree branches targeting their prey. In the afternoon, we then transfer to Bwindi National Park with lunch en- route. Dine and Slumber at Rushaga Gorilla Camp.
Day Nine: Gorilla Tracking Experience
After an early morning breakfast, with our packed lunch, we go to the Park offices for the briefing at around 8:00am and later start the trekking entering the forest, the natural habitat of the gorillas. Your gorilla trekking adventure has just begun. It may take 3-8 hours under muddy and strenuous conditions, sometimes with rain overhead. But all these conditions cease to be a challenge the moment you come face to face with the amazing mountain gorilla. The feeling is one unlike any other felt before, only you can find the fitting word, mine, awestruck. You?
Day Ten: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After a relaxed breakfast, we transfer to Lake Bunyonyi with lunch en-route. Believed to be the second deepest lake in Africa, Lake Bunyonyi is a body of water in southwestern Uganda near the Rwandan border, and one of the country’s top natural treasures. And, at 1,962m above sea level, the lake enjoys moderate temperatures year round, cool in both the mornings and evenings.This is a perfect place for relaxation and photography. Other optional activities include: swimming, canoeing, Birdwatching and visiting the pygmies. Dinner and overnight stay at Archadia Cottages.
Day Eleven: Lake Bunyonyi – Lake Mburo National Park
After an early morning breakfast, we transfer to Lake Mburo National Park with lunch en-route arriving in the afternoon for a boat cruise on Lake Mburo. It is the only place in Uganda that supports massive herds of “impalas”…. Kampala city derives its name from here. Other antelopes easily seen are topi, bushbuck, common duiker, oribi, Defassa waterbuck and Bofor reedbuck. Buffalos, warthogs, bush-pigs and hippopotamus and many others. Dinner and overnight stay at Range Land Mburo Lodge.
Day Twelve: Lake Mburo National Park – Departure
After an early morning breakfast, we go for a nature walk escorted by a ranger guide in search for wildlife. In this walk we are more likely to see a number of mammals including the Eland (the biggest antelope in East Africa), Bush buck, Zebra, Buffalo, Bush pig, Hyena, Impala, Reedbuck and a variety of bird species like the Papyrus gonolake, Lyrac breasted roller, and kockieflancorine among others.
After the walk, check out and drive back to Entebbe with lunch en-route and stop at the Equator for photos, arriving in the afternoon and drive straight to the airport for your flight home.
