No country in Africa packs so much in one small space like Uganda! From soaring mountain ranges to dense tropical rain forest, Uganda has it all! One can travel from snowy mountains tops to wide sunny savannah lands full of wildlife to green thick forest in just a few days.
Murchison falls national park is famous for its roaring falls as water squeezes through a small crevice and thunders down several feet below. Not only does she have this amazing fall but also abundance of different species of wildlife. Experience all this when you visit Uganda
Day One: Pick up and transfer to Murchison falls national park
You will be picked up at 7am by your driver/guide who will brief you about your tour and then depart Murchison falls national park. The highlights of this park include the roaring rapids of the Murchison, the roaring plains of Uganda’s largest national park where you will have a chance of viewing lions, giraffes, hartebeets, buffaloes and elephants. Then surely you will be fascinated by the concentration of hippos and the Nile crocodile here. For birders, Murchison falls boasts about 450 bird species including the elusive shoe bill stock.
Have a stopover at ziwa rhino sanctuary and then have lunch at kabalega dinners. We later proceed on entering the park through Kichumbanyobo gate and visit the magnificent falls where you will enjoy and marvel at the Nile being forced into a sevem meter crevice to thunder 45 meters below in a series of cascades that can be viewed at different points. Dine and slumber at Fort Murchion lodge.
Day Two: Go for a morning game drive and launch trip to the bottom of the falls.
After an early breakfast, tour the northern section of Murchison falls with a high concentration of savannah wildlife. Enjoy game viewing and photography of elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, giraffes, Uganda kobs, lions, the leopards if you are lucky plus a variety of birds.
Return to your accommodation for lunch as you prepare to have launch trip to the base of the falls. This trip is said to be the highlight of this safari in Murchison falls national park since it allows to get upclose to the animals species within the water.
In the afternoon, you will embark on a three hour launch trip to the base of the Murchison falls. Cruise past huge hippos pods, the north bank on the way to the mighty falls. You will have an opportunity of seeing spectacular bird species. Dinner and overnight stay at Fort Murchison Lodge.
Day Three: Chimpanzee trekking in Budongo forest
We depart the lodge, cross the Nile by the ferry and head towards the south to Budongo forest for chimp trekking which takes about 3 hours. Then drive t Masindi where we will have our lunch. Drive back to Kampala and check into your accommodation or drive straight to the airport for your flight back home.
Drive to the top of the falls or go for a game drive and departure
We wake up early for the morning game drive to catch the early risers before they go back to their hid outs, or you will drive to the top of the falls where the Nile water compresses into a narrow gorge down through a 7 meter canyon forming a thunderous roar and a beautiful rainbow in a plume of spray- the water of the Nile river! You will depart for your outbound flight at Entebbe. Note; we recommend for a late afternoon flight.
