DAY ONE: ARRIVAL AND PICK UP

Upon your arrival at Kanombe International Airport in Kigali, you will be met by a representative from Rangeland safaris who will welcome you, brief you through your safari program. If times allows, we can do a city tour and visit the genocide memorial sites and the traditional markets with in Kigali, craft shops and so on. Dinner and overnight stay at Chez Lando hotel Rwanda.

DAY TWO: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park

Today, you will set off towards the famous Nyungwe N.P. which is an untouched Rainforest, one of the largest forests in East and Central Africa. The forest is abundant with flora and fauna including 13 primate species from Colobus monkeys, Mangabeys, blue monkeys and, of course, our cousins the chimpanzees. Nyungwe Forest is semi heaven for birders. With a little over 300 recorded bird species, 26 of which are endemic, making it one of the most important – and still little known – bird-watching destinations in Africa. You will dine and slumber at Nyungwe forest Lodge.

DAY THREE: CHIMPANZEE TREKKING EXPERIENCE

Early morning breakfast, you will then proceed to the chimpanzee tracking trail in either the Cyamudongo or Uwinka sections. This exciting up-close encounter with human’s closest relative will forever live with you. After the chimp tracking you can relax at the lodge or choose an optional activity that you can enjoy. Like take a hike on one of the trails, learn more about the park at the information center, or immerse yourself in the culture. Dinner and overnight stay Nyungwe forest lodge.

 

DAY FOUR: Transfer to the beautiful Lake Kivu

Breakfast and then enjoy the beautiful services and scenery at your lodge. After lunch you will travel to Kibuye on the eastern shores of Lake Kivu where you can visit the Ndaba Falls or take a walk around Kibuye town. In the late afternoon, you can go for 1 to 2 hours hike or rent a boat and visit a few islands. This activity is at your own cost. You can later retire to your accommodation for the night. There are other optional activites like swimming, visiting the communities, sport fishing to mention but afew.

DAY FIVE:  Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Today, after breakfast you shall drive northeast to the town of Musanze close to the Virunga Volcano range. Here you will see the Rwanda’s Musanze caves which date back 65 million years and lay with in the volcanic region where lava flow layers long ago created the Albertine Rift Valley. The caves offer easy hiking 2 kilometers in distance and have brilliant views of cascading lights from the surface, unique rock formations, and a colony of bats. You will have lunch in this town at your own cost then be on your way to Volcanoes

Not far from Ruhengeri, on your way to Volcanoes you find the magnificent twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. Closer to the gorilla’s home, Lakes Burera and Ruhondo are real gems you must not miss.The twin lakes area is very scenic, with steep and intensively farmed hills surrounding the pristine dark blue waters. They offer magnificent views over the whole of the Virunga Volcanoes. You will then arrive to you lodge for tonight is located near the entrance of the national park with an amazing view overlooking the Virunga Volcanoes.

DAY SIX: Golden monkeys trekking in VNP
After breakfast at our lodge, we will head to the park headquarters in Kinigi for a briefing from the RDB park wardens. After the briefing, you will then head for Golden monkeystrekking with in Volcanoes National Park with the rest of the trekkers. Just like Gorilla trekking, this activitymay take some hours in this jungle forest and it depends on the movement of these primates on the previous and that particular day. After trekking, we will retire to our hotel, for dinner and overnight.

DAY SEVEN: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park

Have an early morning breakfast and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest. Bird life and primate life in this forest is quite superb, and there is an incredible variety of flora. Bwindi is the Bird watchers haven! It holds 348 species of birds and supports 24 of 26 Albertine Rift Endemics that occur in Uganda, of which you might have a chance to encounter some as well as other primate species. Dinner and overnight stay at Rushaga gorilla camp.

 

DAY EIGHT: Gorilla trekking Experience

After a great night in a natural environment, you wake up to a beautiful view of the Sunrise over the misty Bwindi Impenetrable national park, have breakfast and at about 7:45am, with our packed lunch, we move to the park offices for registration and briefing before you start the gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Gorilla trekking can be challenging in that sometimes you climb steep hills under muddy conditions and it’s unpredictable how long this will take because it always depends on the movement of these great Apes. There are many factors that determine the movement the mountain gorillas and food availability is one of them, but generally the activity can take between 2 to 8 hours. You go back to the lodge, relax around dinner and Overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Camp.

DAY NINE: Departure

After your morning breakfast, you will check out of the hotel and transfer back to the Airport  for your flight back home or you will drive straight to you post accommodation.
