We make stopovers at the equator for the water experiment, toilet break, picture taking and crafts shopping, then continue to Mbarara for lunch and later proceed on thorough the beautiful evergreen mountainous country-side, referred to as the “Little Switzerland of Africa”, arriving at Bwindi in the evening and check-in to the service of Rushaga gorilla camp for dinner and overnight.

Day Two: Gorilla trekking

After an early breakfast, with our packed lunch, go down to the visitors’ center for registration and briefing before you begin the gorilla trekking. Depending on the movement of these great Apes, this may take about 2 – 8 hours and you need to be prepared to walk for long on a steep terrain and muddy conditions and sometimes with rain over head before encountering any gorilla. The time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour due to conservation purposes. The ranger/ guides always brief you on how to behave while with those great apes. Later return to the camp for Dinner and overnight stay.

We enter the park through the Ishasha sector famous for the tree climbing lions; we do a mini game drive as we proceed on to the northern sector of the park. We arrive at Mweya in the afternoon and take a boat cruise on Kazinga channel. This normally takes about 2 hours and we later check into the services of Twin Lakes safari camp.

Day Four: Game drive and boat cruise
