5 Days Gorilla Trekking and Bunyonyi Tour

DAY ONE: Arrival and Pick Up

On arrival at Uganda’s Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by a representative and transferred to the Airport Guesthouse Entebbe. This charming guesthouse is the ideal place to relax and prepare for the coming adventure. Dinner and overnight stay at Airport guest house Entebbe.

DAY TWO: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Depart Entebbe for your 8 – 9 hr road transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. Enroute, meet and interact with the royal drum makers, stop at the equator and capture photographic memories. You will find that Ugandans are friendly and are eager to interact with visitors. Continue to Mbarara for lunch, and then embark your scenic drive to Bwindi impenetrable forest. Dine and slumber at Rushaga Gorilla camp.

DAY THREE:  Gorilla Trekking Experience and transfer to Bunyonyi

After an early morning breakfast, you will head to the park offices for registration and joining others for the dos and don’ts during your gorilla trek. Once this is done, you will trek through the thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the gorillas which can take you from half an hour to three quarters of the day. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. On your trek, you will be allowed to stay with them for an hour before trekking back to the park headquarters. This is indeed an extra ordinary feeling being with these beautiful yet endangered creatures. The feeling is one unlike any other felt before, only you can find the fitting word, mine, awestruck, You?  Dine and slumber at Rushaga Gorilla Camp. After the trekk check out and drive to Kibale through Ruhija sector of Bwindi National Park and check in to the service of Arcadia cottages Lake Bunyonyi .Relax around and later have dinner and overnight.

 

 

DAY FOUR: EXPLORE BUNYONYI

Believed to be the second deepest lake in Africa, Lake Bunyonyi is a body of water in southwestern Uganda near the Rwandan border, and one of the country’s top natural treasures. And, at 1,962m above sea level, the lake enjoys moderate temperatures year round, cool in both the mornings and evenings. This is a perfect place for relaxation and photography. From the moment you wake to the moment you sleep, you’ll be treated with wonderful views of the islands.

In the early mornings, you’ll be mesmerised by the way mist encircles the islands and how the views change with every passing minute as the sun rises. In the evenings, you’ll be thrown aback by the beautiful sunsets. What we love about this island is that you’ll be able to spot zebra, waterbucks and antelopes as you walk around the island.

A boat ride will be rewarding. Other optional activities include: swimming, Bird watching, visiting the Purnishment Island, mountain biking and visiting the pygmies.

DAY FIVE: DEPARTURE
After breakfast, have a last glance of the stunning landscape of Lake Bunyonyi. You could also have a nature walk around the area. Then drive to Kampala stopping in Mbarara town for lunch. You will arrive in Kampala in the evening which marks the end of your tour around the beautiful lake Bunyonyi.
